Villa Seafood is a multinational seafood company, headquartered in Ålesund, Norway. We specialize in processing, distributing and marketing a range of salmon, trout and other seafood products to more than 30 countries worldwide.

The Villa Group is known and recognized as a leading supplier of organic and sustainable fish. From being pioneers in wrasse fishing, to being one of the first in the world with organic cod and organic salmon. Now finally becoming the first ASC certified salmon farm in the world in 2013.

Following the sale of the farming operations in 2013, Villa Seafood is now an independent sales and marketing company working closely with independent salmon farmers. Villa Seafood carries the heritage of the Villa companies with pride. We strive to live up to the legacy of “The Villa Way” by providing our customers with first class products, service and advice in an ever-changing, more competitive and complicated marketplace. We take pride in being an informed partner and our target is to create bigger values for all to share through close partnerships with our customers and suppliers.

Villa Seafood on historic ground

Located 15 miles south of the historic Boston Fish Pier, we chose the Hingham Shipyard for our North American headquarters because of the unique parallels drawn between the small fishing villages of Norway and the rich fishing history of the coast of Massachusetts.

Since the early 1900s the Boston Fish Pier has been an essential hub for the North American seafood supply and remains to this day a hub for fishery activities. The Boston Fish Pier and many other northeast hubs supply seafood throughout New England and beyond. New England seafood traditions inspire and influence culinary practices throughout North America.

We are proud to be a part of this vibrant seafood landscape rooted in historic tradition and propelled forward by innovative efforts in sustainability. Our Norwegian perspective is enriched by the New England mentality and this married approach allows us to add incredible value to the seafood landscape of North America.

Beautiful Isle of Skye

Organic Sea Harvest

Villa Seafood UK is a founding partner of Organic Sea Harvest, a new organic salmon farming company in Scotland. Sites are currently being established on the east coast of Isle of Skye. Once fully established the annual harvest tonnage will be around 5,000 metric tons. Harvesting is planned to start in 2021. This will be the first new salmon farming company in Scotland in 30 years. Through this partnership Villa will be able to offer our customers a year-round supply of Scottish organic salmon.

Food safety throughout the entire production chain

The Norwegian fishing and aquaculture industry supply healthy seafood, produced in a clean ocean environment, to consumers in more than 150 countries worldwide.

The seafood industry is one of Norway’s foremost export industries and is vital for settlements and activities along the Norwegian coast. It provides employment in fishing and aquaculture and has widespread effects on trade and industry as well as on research and development.

Norway controls some of the world’s most productive marine environments, with excellent conditions for conducting environmentally friendly aquaculture. Norway places great emphasis on gaining knowledge of fish resources, the ocean environment and how the interplay between species functions. Simultaneously, there is comprehensive regulation of fishing resources to ensure sustainable management. Consumers must have confidence in Norwegian seafood. Food safety throughout the entire production chain is a primary focus, and the levels of foreign substances are documented. The consumer must be able to know with certainty that Norwegian seafood is safe and healthy.
